Generalemente se celebra en febrero o marzo y los premios se dan en cuatro categorías: Arte (antes llamado no-interactivo, arte digital), Entretenimiento (antes llamado arte interactivo, incluye los videojuegos y los sitios Web), Animación y Manga. En cada categoría se dá un Gran Premio, cuatro premios de  excelencia, y (desde 2002) un premio Estímulo
